Self directed relfection

I have learned much since X-mas about character modeling and mo-cap animation. Since then I have modeled my first female character which I thought cam out well, I shinned two characters and had them on screen animated using Mo-cap data st the same time.  Watched skeletons that worked just fine fold in upon themselves with one wrong click and so on. last and while not part of my self directed was setting our scenes with characters moving and getting them in the right place doing the right thing. I think I learned much form this term and my two self directed characters even if the texture on Yuki is bad and need to be done for real.

Here she is Yuki in here human form, this is the first time I’ve ever done a female character befor and I know it shows but I think it turned out better then I though she would. As I was extremely pressed for time I had to use basic in Maya textures for texturing mental-ray default skin and Lamberts for her cloths and shoes.

At long last here he is all done and skinned. the red armor has just a normal blinn on it and his body has a black hexagonal texture that as to make it look like the nano suit from Crisis. He turned out nice when hes in the scenes in our trailer in the shrine cave, I would like to take the time and really give his up map and body texture the love they derisive in the future.

well here it is after a good long wait Yukihiria Nigata ( “Second Snowflake”) is all done and ready to be added to the scenes where she is needed. Yuki’s sword form was originality going to have a snowflake shaped hand guard but I could not get it looking right so I went with a no guard look.

A preview of the sword I am working on for my main character for my big 3D project this term. I would also offer a tip for anyone trying to generate written text form any Asian language in Maya, don’t use the text tool in Maya your just asking for trouble.
